About us

Government Engineering College West Champaran is founded by Government of Bihar under “Saat Nischaya” with the motive of facilitating the contribution of youth towards economic and social betterment through development of higher education and strengthening the supply side of skilled workers in the state. It was established in the year 2019 under Department of Science and Technology, currently Science, Technology and Technical Education Department, Bihar, in West Champaran district of Bihar. College is affiliated with Bihar Engineering University, Patna and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.

The Department of Civil Engineering was started in the year 2019. It offers the Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering [B.Tech (CE)] since 2019 with a current annual intake of 60 students as per Bihar Engineering University, Patna. Lab facility of the department is well furnished with basic and modern equipment. The academic activities of the department emphasize to teach modern tools and software skill either under the course or through different events & workshop under the banner of students SRIJAN club. The department has 6 highly qualified, trained and experienced faculties from the premier institutes of India. The teaching and non-teaching staff of department are highly motivated and committed to facilitate the students for evolution of their skills to help them attain a higher degree of knowledge, global competency and excellence, for the betterment of the society.

The Solid Waste Management Seminar at Government Engineering College West Champaran is an insightful event aimed at exploring the technical and practical challenges associated with managing solid waste in modern society. This seminar will bring together students, Research scholars, Academicians, Environmentalists, Industry Resource person, and non-governmental organizations members to discuss innovative engineering solutions and sustainable practices in solid waste management.

The Topics will include Innovative Technologies in Waste Management, Policy Frameworks for Effective Waste Management, Current Challenges in Solid Waste Management, Successful Waste Management Projects, Role of NGOs and Community Organizations in Waste Management, Designing Sustainable Waste Management Systems, Engaging the Community in Waste Reduction efforts, Community Involvement in Waste Management and Developing Community-Based Waste management Plans. The Seminar will consist of talks that have been invited by Eminent Resource persons in the field of SWM, academician will share their expertise on current trends, technological advancements, and policy frameworks related to solid waste management. Attendees will also gain insights into the role of engineers in optimizing waste collection and disposal systems, minimizing environmental impact, and promoting the circular economy.

Interactive sessions will allow participants to engage in discussions on the latest innovations in solid waste treatment, including smart waste monitoring, composting technologies, and resource recovery methods. This seminar will not only highlight the engineering challenges but also inspire students to think critically about developing sustainable waste management systems that can be applied in both urban and rural settings. This is a must-attend event for engineering students and professionals interested in addressing one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time and contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future. It is aimed to have 100 participants. The seminar will help the participating SMW professional in planning and providing new and innovative Solitaire in solid waste management.
